The York Water District has TWO types of Seasonal Customers:

Summerline Customers
are those that are supplied water by seasonal water mains. These customer’s water meters are automatically installed, unless the District is notified in writing not to install. As of 2004 the District has approximately 600 Summerline meters to install starting the day after Patriot’s Day as celebrated in Massachusetts and Maine. Note that Patriot’s Day just happens to be the day the Boston Marathon is held. The District because of freezing weather conditions may delay the install date. The meters are removed starting the 4th Monday in October.

Installed:
day after Patriot’s Day

Removed: 4th Monday of October

Deep Main Seasonal Customers
are those that are supplied water by a deep, below frost line water main. These customs are required to call the District and make an appointment to have their meters installed in the spring and removed in the fall. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that their meter does not freeze. These customers are required by the Town of York Code Enforcement to have their meters removed for a minimum of 90 consecutive days annually as per  the Town of York Zoning Ordinance Article 7.14 Occupancy of Seasonal Dwellings.

INSTALLED: when customer makes an appointment – needs to be after there is no threat of meter freezing.

REMOVED: when customer makes an appointment - needs to be before there is any possibility of meter freezing. Also needs to be before December 31st per Town of York Code Enforcement.

RATES FOR EXISTING CUSTOMERS:

For existing customers who increase meter size, the change will be the difference between the system development charge for the new meter size, and the charge for the existing meter size.

Example Only:

New 1” Meter

$5,850.42

Less Existing 5/8” Meter

$1,188.19

Balance Due

$4,662.23

ANNUAL ADJUSTMENT:

All system development charges shall be adjusted annually upward or
downward to reflect inflationary/deflationary changes in construction costs. This adjustment will be made according to the Whitman, Requardt and Associates Published Index.

TERMS OF PAYMENT:

The System Development charge shall be paid by the customer before connection to the Districts water system.
